hi mylotters---Ive been away for a while, got so busy during exam weeks. I missed mylotting. Well, recently here in the Philippines, media posted pictures of 2 women who worked as house maids and were wanted for poisoning their employers before taking valuable things from them. The victims were mostly chinese-filipino citizens. In our country, even middle class families could afford 1 0r 2 maids. There are house maids that have been with their employers for years...there are those who jump from one household to another. Anyway,these 2 house maids are said to be friend village or business security guards. They then ask the guards to recommend them. in the news, about 4 households were victimized since january of 2008. They were said to put poison in sugar,milk,salt and seasoning containers. The police said that the poison is modified so ast not to kill but just to cause nausea,vomitting and headache. When the entire household members are in the hospital together with the other innocent maids and nannies, the 2 maids rob the whole house. Isnt that so cruel?...oh at least, they didnt kill, but it is really terrible.There were even kids in the family whose milk formula was added with poison. I am very thankful that when the pictures were shown on TV, the 2 lady maids were apprehended right away. they were immediately put to prison. the sad thing is, the 2 maids belong to a syndicate. meaning there are more of them. I am lucky our maid is the daughter of our farm help. they have been with us for 5 years. Why do you think people can be so insensitive...willing to hurt people just for the sake of easy money? I am very sure things like this is not isolated in the Philippines...I know there are other very cruel people out there in other countries... a person is born basically good...but society changes a person's soul.
