Dancing w/ the Stars gets Erica and Phyliss!  

I enjoy watching it, but like it better if I know the dancers! It is interesting that they always have a huge big football player man out there doing the tango and all! Amazing that they can do that, as big as they are!

For the first few episodes I have my favorite star because I know them and like them, but if they don't have the dance skills I drop them.
Jason from last year did very well, I didn't even know who he was. I think Emmet winning was a travesty! He was good but NOT Mario-good, if you know what I mean.

The thing I don't like about this show is the viewer-voters, they keep voting for the people the like and not because they can dance. remember Jerry Rice, oh man, there is not way he should EVER have lasted more than a few episodes, never mind make it to the finals. It's more of a popularity contest with the viewer-voters.

I know exactly what you mean. Dancers get the votes alot based on who they are not if they can dance. When they voted out the Cheetah Girl - the blonde - forget her name, and moving on, was it Pricilla Presley or Marie Osmond, I turned it off. I didn't even watch it the next week. That was pathetic. Neither of those 2 did near as good as she did -Pricilla never even cracked a smile and acted so uppity and Marie simply promoted her doll business over and over.

But I'll still tune in! I only know the three "older" ones, and of course they will be voted out first as not as many "remember" them as the others so, guess we'll see!

Their outfits are always really nice - well usually, but always skimpy!

I KNOW!!!! I really thought the Cheetah Girl would go to the finals. I was PO'd.
And what about the last season, Marissa? Listen, she was good for her size but not good enough to get so close to the finals. With NO hip action, I still can't believe she got as far as she did. That was the ONLY time all of the judges didn't jump all over someone for no hip action. It was unfair. Everyone else had to move their hips but not her. I felt like she was in a different competition altogether.

I forgot about Marissa! She was totally amazing!!! To not only do the dances like everyone else, but to be deaf and not have that ability to lean on, work with, make it easier, can't hear the beat of the music - man oh man, she should have won as she was totally as good as the rest, better than most and did all that with her disability...just goes to show she did it all and then some - she should have won!!

The deaf girl was Marlee Matlin, she was good in Ballroom but sucked at the Latin. She ws still good considering she's deaf, but it IS a dance competition. The dance they perform should be all that counts.
Marissa was the chubby one, her partner was Tony.

Cool that you know someone! I enjoy the show, but enjoy it even better if I know the dancers! I am beginning to know the professional dancers better than the celebrity dancers and start rooting for them instead of the celebs! I only know 3 of them this time - yes they are all the oldest ones - Susan Lucci, Cloris Leachman and Ted McGinley -

Susan is to haughty(in my opinion) to make it far, Ted might do the best of the three, but I hope for the sake of comedy, that Phyliss, I mean Cloris Leachman stays around for awhile! She is a hoot! Loved her in Mary Tyler Moore show and she's been in so many others as either a silly goof or a serious cranky old lady - either way I enjoy all she's done!
Don't knoe the rest other than the youngest is the kid that plays on the Hanna Montana show - he is 18 in real life. I guess they paired him up with Juliana Hough- the youngest of the professionals and joked about it being the first time she's been the "older woman". I relaly enjoy her and Derak, her brother - he is awesome!

September 22 it starts. ANd they said something about it being on for three nights in a row or something. I didn't pay much attention to that, as its a month away...

I hear ya. I enjoy it more if I know the people! But I only heard of the three I mention. ONly reason I know any others was they said who they were to be who they are! The Cody kid is 18 and the actor in the Hanna Montana show - a kids show. Other than that, I haven't heard of any - okay, Tony Braxton, a singer I think but other than that....nothing. Kardashian - only heard hte name mentioned lately in the news - not even sure why as I could care less! They had Susan Lucci on phone on the show and she said that they had been assking her for several shows and she refused the others until she "talked to Cameron Mathison and he said she could do it". Her problem is she is in New York for All My Children and DWS is in LA - coast to coast. But we'll just see what happenes! I love cloris leachman - she is hilarious and I hope they keep her around even it if is just for the comedy she brings!

Oh, yeah, Lance Bass - the guy with Janet Jackson and the "rip the top off and bear all" thing at the super bowl. Hooo - Hummm...

It wasn't Lance who bared Janet's booby. It was Justin Timberlake. However, they are fairly equivalent in my eyes!

Well, just goes to show I don't know any of them but the 3 'Old folks"!! To funny! It will be fun anyway!

melissaruth1 - us "old folks" know Ted McGinley from Happy Days and then Love Boat - all BEFORE his Married with Children days!! Yes, it will be good. They all have been!

I actually didn't remember that he was on Married with Children until this very minute. I didn't like that show at all, so I rarely saw him on it. I thought he had been on Happy Days but wasn't 100% sure. I wonder if he is still adorable. I guess I will find out on September 22!

I hardly watched Married with Children - that was a disgusting show. but my husband watched it from time to time. He replaced another character as the husband to the neighbor. He wasn't that good I didn't think or maybe the writting wasn't that great.

But I just remembered - he was on that sitcom, Hope and Faith just a few years ago- he was HOpe's (Faith FOrd) dentist husband. He was really funny on that show.

From the little picture they showed, he is still good lookinge! I'm not complaining!!!

Susan Lucci, in times I have seen her as herself, she is close to Erica! I see her only as so arrogant and holier-than-thou! Don't care for her, but she keeps her job going! I don't see her getting along to well with the rest, but...we'll see!

Cloris LEachman is an absolute hoot - love her and being the oldest, you know she won't last, but I sure hope they keep her for awhile.. she'll bring such a great breath of fresh air to the show!

Yeah, I was a bit taken with Ted too! In Happy Days and Love Boat both!! Couldn't stand his character on Married With Children.

I am always surprised that the big, husky football players do so well! You just don't think that big hunk of braun could be able to do such detailed, specific and "on your toes" kind of dance steps! That is always enjoyable to see what you think is not possible, become possible! Don't know any of them tho.

Yeah, unfortunately, I do believe those with the biggest fan base win, whether they deserve it or not - I think alot of votes are just cast for who they are, not their dancing ability. The first season with Kelly Monaco was about ability, but since then, at least in my opinion, many are voted just for who they are - I mean Marie Osmond was not that great, but she went clear up to near finals while that one Cheeta girl was so fantastic and she got voted out rather early. ANd Pricilla Presely wasn't that great, but she stayed in the running pretty long

I think it'll be another fun season!

They have had a few on there with a dance background and I thought that was not so good as it is all about the non-dancers becomeing dancers. The Cheetah Girl, Joey Fatone, Nick Lache, and a few others. THey aren't dancers persay, but have a talent of dancing with their song preformances. But oh well, maybe the pickin's are slim! Seems like it is a huge amount of work in a very small amount of time and for ..nothing? I don't hear of anything more than the trophy as reward.

She is among the last of the "good" comidiens from the 70's - back when they were funny cause they were funny and not always just making jokes about s*x and related issues like they are today. I wish I had seen the roast! THose were great back in the 70's - when they'd have one each month or so!
