The rich becomes richer, the poor become poorer...

My student and I were talking about the economic status in our respective countries. We discussed how the the prices of almost everything goes up and yet the salaries are still down. 
Then he mentioned that often said, "The rich are the ones who are becoming wealthier but the rest of the people remain in dire poverty."
I agree with him though there are some who have found ways to get out of poverty but the majority can feel the economic crunch. What do you think?

What you have been saying is so true..even now though those who are quite well off are feeling the crunch more and are even now shopping at cheaper supermarkets for their food...and those who have houses earning a fair wage are finding it hard to make ends mee..I live in a village and it is slowly expanding we only have 1 convenience store and a small supermarket when it comes to buying food the convenience store is chaper than the supermarket now therefore getting more profit..it is amazing how people are now trying to manage bills etc..more and more people are getting into debt,going bankrupt and having their houses repossed then when going to the council for housing the council turn them away saying they can still buy a house and have too much money..so more and more people are getting depressed and seeing psychiatrists...we are now in the early stages of recession..it is awful the way things are..your friend littleowl

Hi diutay,
Well its very true the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer, once your in a poverty line its hard to get further up as the goverment keeps you down but rich, the more they get the more they want and they do get.
