I would rather live in the farm. Where I will wake up to morning mist and dew drops. Where I can see my daisies and roses bloom. Where I can smell freshly cut grass. Where I can just lay back on my pillow and ..."hey wake Up!", I know I'm dreamin'.LOL, I miss our farm. Although we are now residing near the beach, I'd rather go home to Manila where our house is in cainta and our farm in Antipolo City. Davao City is great---but home is home. I will be uploading more pictures of our farm. If you have more time, just check them. How about you?would you prefer the city than the farm?tnx.

Definitely in the city. I live in Manila, Malabon City to be exact. I grew up here, so if I am somewhere far, I would definitely miss it. Especially internet connection, I just cant stay in the province if there are no internet connections.

Bukidnon? Free wifi? Ugghhh, that is so cool... In Cavite where my mom's family live, well there is no internet connection. Because my cousins who are there are kids, so when I go there I can stay for a week but I get really bored. Yes, Malabon is in CAMANAVA. Your husband works for what company?

Hi trish...trish, there are internet connections, even wifi in our provinces. You'd be surprised that even on top of a mountain in Bukidnon, you'll find a free wifi zone. I know how sad it will be to leave the home where you grew up. Malabon falls in the CAMANAVA area right? That was one of my husbands area coverage. tnx for sharing.

I would have to say that I would rather live on a farm, there are no farms near me anyhow! I just don't like the thought of living in the city but I just don't have any choice. I would love to move out to the countryside and enjoy the fresh air and the wild life, and everything that goes with that. There's a lot to be said about living in the Countryside. It's very relaxing and I guess you get to experience tremendous peace. In the city you are constantly showered with noise and pollution, police cars rushing by from time to time! Let's not forget that the city smells too in some parts where there is a buildup of rubbish!! No, my dream would be to live in the countryside, have a couple of dogs to run around with, keep me company during the dark evenings; not forgetting a very nice book to relax to!! For me this is the ultimate place to be!! Andrew

tnx Andrew. yes it would have been so much fun living that way. I guess its a retirement dream for most of us. I am beginning to really appreciate the fact that we have a farm nearby. My 16 year old son loves it there as he could run around and finds many things to do even if he is not suppose to. grrr. My daughter hates it there. She grumbles when we spend a week end in the farm. She prefers to be in our city home and be on the phone or the computer the whole day. But she has no choice but to come with us. Then realizes she likes it there anyway. There are those non-farm people too like my in laws. They dont like it much there. Insects piss them a lot. Me,I just only hate the mosquitoes and there are repellant lotions I can apply. Hope you can be in a farm soon.

Well I grew up in a rural area but not a farm and i've also lived in the cities for a number of years too. I think I prefer the city living because of it's convenience and variety, in the country it seems I have to drive long distances to be able to do anything that I loved doing in the city. I want city living with rural cost of living :)

I like the countryside. In fact I absolutely love the fresh air you get there, air that has not been polluted by smog and carbon monoxide BUT instead just plain air the way nature brought it to be. And imagine walking through the woods seeing life at it's peak, how each animal interacts with it's environment, the struggle for survival. Children so pure not yet know to what the big cities are installed for them. Yet they dream of one day going and exploring the land large by itself. very little crime rate, a child could go outside and play without getting kidnapped, a woman could go out alone at night without getting rapped, A man could travel by himself and not get robbed. The community of lasting friendship and everyone who looks upon each other as family. As much as I Love the country, I'd never be able to live in that kind of conditions. So I'm gonna have to live in the city and be a city chick. I prefer the farm but need the sources and availability the city has to offer.

I agree so much with you.. ..as much as we like it in a set back place, the resources we need is in the hustle bustle of everything...tnx for sharing.

i would love to live in a farm, but provided all the basic needs are there and live with a simple life.Life in the city is so complicated, and the people around the city is too busy.I remember my childhood memories in farm, simple and quiet, and most of all i miss the fresh air.

basic needs would not be a problem in a farm, just food and water and thats it. No phones, no TV, No No No for karaoke!

I love the country side, but I don't think I would like to live on a farm especially here in Ireland. The work is too hard and I would never make a lot of money with our new monsoon weather here. I wouldn't like to live in a city either and so I chose to live in a quiet country village which is within commuting distance of a couple of small towns and I can still enjoy the country life. Nice post. I love your description of your farm.

thank you...we just visit our farm. we have a care taker there. we need to stay where the job is. it will be hard to depend on the farm's income. it will be an inconsistent income.

I have always lived in the city and grew up here as well. I live in Manila. I have never been to a farm but seeing it on the television, it looks quite nice to live in one with the fresh air and all that nature...Manila now is polluted and very tight on traffic as you know and a breath of fresh air would do me good. You are lucky to have lived on a farm and now near a beach? lucky...I would want that. I rarely go to the beach the last one I've been to is in Puerto Galera...

I know how you feel. I wouldnt miss the traffic there definitely. My daughter was supposed to study in UST. UST offers the best Special ed course. She was very decided to take up the course and we were not considering any other schools. but when we were told that we were to move to Davao,we decided she goesto Ateneo de DAvao. She cried but just look at the difference of a students life here and the trip to UST everyday. Please read my comment too to our kabayan in response # 9. We have yet to go to Puert GAlera. Mindoro used to be one ofmy husbands area coverage but we were not able to go with him there. Maybe sometime in the future. tnx for sharing.

Farm, definitely. When I lived in MN a few years ago, we had a small hobby farm. Six horses, two dogs, couple of cats, decent sized garden. It was a lot of work to maintain, but I absolutely loved the lifestyle. I wish I could have it back again, but that's not going to happen. I'm renting a very small house right now and it's in a rural area with a lot of wildlife around, but I'll hopefully buying my own home again soon, and I'd love to be in an area like I am now. Nope, I don't like to be in the heart of the city.

Wow, living in an area with wildlife is cool. Im sure you can hike and see different kinds of animals around. Its more than being in the farm. We have 1 horse too. His name is Valentino because we bought him on a Valentines day for our son. Our albino carabao is a fat water buffalo. She's fat because she spends her life eating and swimming in the mud. She gave birth already. She had 2 male carabao born in 2 succeeding years. Since they are males, they are being used by the care taker to plow a little portion so he can plant sweet potato and corn. Im sure you can buy a house again and start anew just like your farm before. Have a good life. thank you for sharing.

Hi, kabayan~! =) Well, I've lived in the city for my entire life and the closest thing to a province I've visited during vacations is Cavite, which isn't really as rural, so I don't think I would have an actual point of comparison. Ideally, I'd like to live in the province, though more along the lines of a resthouse overlooking the beach -- or something equally poetic -- away from the hustle and bustle of urban living. It'd definitely be such a nice change from the hectic lifestyle that comes with living in the city. X) And yes, pictures of your farm would be great. =)

tnx kabayan! I am grew up in a farm in Ormoc City. But eversince I was small, vacations will be spent in BF Paranaque. You know how magulo it is in that area...but then once we get use to the manila lifestyle we seem to be more comfortable rather than be in a farm that has a very lax life style. When I got married, we lived for a while in Project 4 QC. Then we went around the Philippines as my husbands work requires him to be anywhere and everywhere. We lived in the Leyte-Samar area. Central Luzon area and South Mindanao area. We went around the whole of North and South Luzon. Our house is in Cainta. In one of the subdivisions near Sta Lucia east. Our farm, I think I mentioned already is is Antipolo. Just an hour away from cainta. We are now in Davao...the most livable city in our country, but when you ask our kids where they prefer to live...their answer will be -Project 4. The most congested place for me...still they like it there. Well, thats life. We're going home sem break. tnx for sharing.

I would rather live in the city; I love the bustle of city life, and the fact that there are loads of people there to talk to and make friends with. That being said, I think I would also like to spend maybe a couple of months on a farm to see what it's like, as I don't have much experience first hand of country life. You never know, I might grow to like it better!

It was very funny because when my husband decided that we buy the farm, he didnt have any knowledge about running the place. he got hired help which was willing to stay in the farm. We just have to provide food and shelter. When my husband planted the mangoes and other fruit trees, he just placed them where he wanted, not thinking that they will grow into big trees. Now its like the farm is all covered with leaves. We only drive an hour to reach the place, my husband says,he is going to retire here. just aan hour and you're away from the hustle bustle of the suburbs. yes, you'll never know you'd find country life interesting. tnx
