My sister's baby can't crawl when she was 1 year old. When she straggle to crawl, she will push herself backward. I wave toys before her but she will be even far away. But the cute baby has learnt how to walk and she even can run for 2 or 3 meters' long.

My mom says I learned to walk without learning to crawl. Every baby does things differently. My older daughter did this crab crawl thing (on one knee and one foot) before she learned to walk. Her younger sister crawled and her brother scooted (used his hands but dragged his legs).

hi! i think that is normal because my niece has also experienced this. she has started walking at 8months without crawling. we trained her to crawl by grabbing unto her legs so that she would push herself forward. we have done this for almost 2 weeks until she could push herself on her own. maybe you could try this, just hold on to her legs when she is crawling so that she could gather up her strenght to push...which could eventually lead her to learning how to crawl. But dont push it too hard on her especially if she doesnt like it. she would learn some of the things on her own. she is just a fast learner for learning how to walk before learning how to crawl. goodluck with your niece! and happy mylotting!
