Lying about your age.

The stereotype seem to be that women sometimes lie about their age as they get older. Personally I don't believe that most will do this, but it does happen. I've been hearing lately that men have been doing this as well. To the men out here...would you ever lie about your age to try and impress a woman you might potentially date? to the women...What would you think about a guy if you dated him, then found out that he had lied about his age?

I don't lie about my age. But I don't tell people my age.
If someone is hell bent on knowing my age, I'll let them
guess. When there well under my age I'll say your close.
And keen them guessing. If they think I'm that age then then
they do.
If a man lied about his age by a couple it wouldn't bother me.
More than that, it might.

I don't think its common for people to lie about their age, I think its common for people to not say their age. i think most men tell the truth about their age too, as theres no reason not to... and u find out anyway, u can see their drivers licence, or passport, or if they have a birthday, theres no point in lying about it i think

I've actually found over the yrs that its the younger females that tend to lie about their age at times..though I've known some older women that do it..I myself couldnt be bothered for starters and have no desire to lie about my age..I'm 37 and proud of it...If a guy lied to me about his age I'd be ticked off about the fact that he lied to me period...regardless of the lie itself, just lying to me is a big fat NO NO....

I lied once when I set up a limited company at 21. I just thought that clients might think that I was too young to have the experience. So I went up to 26 and later, it took me ages to remember my real age. Kept having to go back to first principles - what year was I born ... haha
In retrospect, I don't think it made any difference. You either do the job or not.

It depends a bit on why he lied about his age I think. If he did it to decieve me I'd not like it. For example if he knew I would not go for an older man and he lied to lure me in.
I know a man that did just that. He pretended to be 8 years older than a woman and she thought the age difference was a bit much and was hesitant. Then much much later in the relationship it came out that he was in fact 16 years older. Not nice. If a man would lie like this he will surely lie about a number of other things as well. Me - I just do not like people that tell lies
