I have always been "different." I guess I have a different view of the world. Perhaps it is because I am blessed with ADD. I know, most people wouldn't concider having attention deficit disorder a blessing but I do.
You see, I don't, by nature, pay a whole lot of attention to things. Stuff that bothers others, like the news and such, just don't mean anything to me. I don't read newspapers and I barely look at news online.
I guess I just worry about things that directly affect me. If some idiot, half a world away, wants to cause problems, well, how in the heck does that affect me. I have heard tons of arguements why we(the United States) should be in Iraq but I just don't get it. What did Saddam ever do to us ??? Nothing that I know of.
The same thing applies to Cuba. We refuse to ship products to Cuba, we condemn their leadership, heck we even refused aid that was offered after Katrina. Why ??? So Fidel almost let some missles into Cuba how many years ago ??? Duh ... that was Russia asking. What was he supposed to do ... say no ??? I am sure not all countries that have our missles placed there are thrilled about it. Kind of makes you think.
Anyway, I am getting sidetracked, which tends to happen to me. The point of this discussion is about being different and being on a road less traveled. How am I different ??? Let me try to count the ways.
Money. I don't care about it. I never have. If I have enough to pay bills and have a little fun, well, I am happy. I do not try to keep up the with the Joneses, or get rich. I don't need a new car, as long as the beater that I have keeps going down the road.
Government. I don't like it. I never could understand why people get so caught up in the presidential elections. It isn't like the president can actually do anything. Congress holds the power in the US, always has, always will. Their greatest accomplishment ??? Getting people to think it's the president they need to watch.
Gun control. To me, gun control means knowing how to use the safety on your firearm. We have an absolute right to own guns but, and I am sure all the NRA nutbags are not going to like this, we do not need automatic weapons, assault rifles, or small caliber handguns. That is just nuts. If you cannot hunt with it, why own it ???
