Do you think that traffic exchanging sites work?

Do you think that traffic exchanging sites work to get referrals? What about using the banners on them. I am in a few and I have forgotten which one's I am in. I remember a couple and I am doing one of them right now. I think the one that I like the most is easyhits4u. A couple of months ago I spent quite a few time on them and I barely got any referrals. I was just wondering if anyone really get referrals from using them and if you think that they work? I don't want to spend a lot of time on them if they aren't worth it.
What do you think? Do you think they help or work? Do you use them, why or why not?

I have a couple of them listed on my profile. They have gained me a few referrals but not a ton. They are extremely good for getting page views though. If you have a site or page that you earn by getting page views then you should for sure use a couple of these. I have even more listed on my page in my profile if you want to check them out.

I had not thought about using my traffic exchanges in this way. They don't bring in referrals.

I'm working 2 traffic exchanges at this time and have not gotten a single active referral from either one of them. I may just have to take mscott's advise and try them for my blogs. I need some traffic on them.
