'For Better or For Worse' Ends Its Original Run Today email this discussion to a friend?

My favorite comic strip, "For Better of For Worse", ended it's 29 year run today. It's sad to say goodbye to the characters I grew up with, but nice to see that everyone got their happy ending.
For Better or For Worse, by Lynn Johnston, followed the lives of the Patterson family as well as their friends, dealing with everyday life issues and sometimes more poignant material as well. It was a lovely strip, not overly comical, and definitely relatable.
The good news is that the strip will now be starting from the beginning, with some new material and artwork as well. The dailies will mix the new with the old, retelling the story we all already know in new ways, which is a great way to keep it going.
Were any of you fans, and if so, what are your thoughts on the comic's ending (and new beginning)?
