A research conducted has proven that babies could remember the music they "heard" while still in the womb of their mothers. The research invloved pregnant mothers whose babies 11 months after showed preference for the music they have been hearing when they were in the mother's womb. "We know the foetus in the womb is able to hear fully only 20 weeks after conception. Now we have discovered that babies can remember and prefer music that they heard before they were born over 12 months later," Dr Alexandra Lamont, from the university's music research group, stated after the research was done. I believe this. When I was carrying my son, I would listen to all kinds of music. If he was moving around a lot, I would play something classical and he would settle down. I played music to fit my mood. When he was 2 or 3, on Sunday nights, he and I would listen to classical music on the radio. This is how he went to sleep. He is 27 and still listens to all kinds of music. Everything from the classical, to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, to classic rock, to what kids listen to today. With my daughter, I listened to mostly classic rock (50's and 60's stuff), and what was being played in the mid 80's. She listens to some of the stuff kids listen to today, but a lot of times I hear classic rock coming from her radio. I also know that they hear when they are in the womb. One day I was sitting on the couch, near the front door. The back door was open. My husband opened the front door. The cross wind caused the front door to slam. It startled my son. I put my hand on my belly and rubbed him until he settled back down.

I believe it. My mom did the headphone thing on her belly. And I turned out to be a musician and a writer. That's something that has always stuck with me. My mom isn't a musician, but my whole family is into artsy stuff. So I guess that could probably be in my genes in my case. However, I still believe that allowing a baby to listen to music will make them creative.
