I have a Toshiba Satellite that I have had since Feb 1996. I love it, it has never given me any problems. You just have to keep your programs updated, have a good antivirus program and a good adware program. When I finally have to buy another one, it will be a Toshiba too.
Good luck finding yours! ;)

I actually have an asus a8he but i want another one. Im thinking of buying a smaller laptop, the ones that are in style today and costs really cheap. You can even put them in your bag. It's gonna be just an alternative to the laptop im using now. I appreciate the reply. I hope you have a nice day ahead of you. Im glad your laptop works perfectly great with you.

This depends on what you want out of your laptop and what part of the world you live in. Sony and Lenovo offer the best reliability, battery, and build quality, although they are often criticized for their inordinately high price. These brands are at the high end of the market and are de rigourfor international business travelers where there is little room for compromise. Toshiba and Dell also offer some high-end models that aspire to this category.
For music, graphics design, and video editing, Apple is highly regarded, albeit limited in native software options in general and still widely seen as presenting assailable interoperability issues for more than personal use. Apple also offers a current fashionablity that is not widely seen in other brands outside of Asia.
There are several other players in the Windows laptop market that offer decent quality products and a growing number of Linux alternatives offered by major and minor players. It is basically comes down to how much you are willing to pay for functionality, form factor, and reliability.

I'm gonna use the laptop for basic stuff like net surfing and emailing. I'm from the philippines and you're right, sony and lenovo are expensive here. My laptop now is asus. It's cheap but very reliable. Thanks for explaining everything to me point by point.

Well, up to about 6 months ago, I would have said Dell.
But Ive had to deal with their customer support about Vista crashes on my newest lappie.
To be fair, this Dell Laptop is a great machine, but Vista and Dell's customer support in this area is not pleasing me.
So all I can suggest is dont get Vista installed on whatever laptop you get, and if its a Dell, hope you dont have to deal with their customer support.
Oh, the Dell I have is the Inspiron 1720, its a wonderful machine.

I'm also having problems with vista. I regret that i had it installed on my laptop. I would have preferred to have windows xp. I'm actually looking for something cheaper but of course has quality. I appreciate the reply.
