Monkees fans?  

I grew up with the Monkees and loved them. I still have all the albums I had when I was a kid...all of them but one I guess of their originals...there is one I never knew about until a few years ago. I don't have any of their releases when they tried to reunite for a brief time. However, I found a lot of good Monkee videos on YouTube from their tv shows. They are fun to watch again. Davy Jones has his own website and he is still just as gorgeous as he used to be. Too bad he was so short. LOL. Like I would have ever met and had a chance with him back then. I was just a kid. He lives in both PA and FL and raises race horses. I don't know if I can pick a favorite song, but I also liked Daydream Believer. I liked basically all the songs Davy did...he was my favorite. I liked Mickey too.

I love the Monkees! The show was great and the music is fantastic! Not sure which song I would call my favorite... I suppose if I had to choose i'd say their theme song. All their songs are great though.

The only song I actually know of theirs is that one that Smashmouth covered, not sure of the name... (Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer...) yeah that one. I know I know more of their songs though, just don't recall off the top of my head. And yeah, I'm a fan of them. I'm too young to have seen them on MTV though!

Hey sweet! I used to love the Monkees too! I had a crush
on Mickey and then on Peter. I loved their music too.
I liked alot of their songs. Daydream Believer was one
of my favorites too along with the theme song. I remember
when I was about 13 going down to Greenwich Village
where Davy Jones & Peter Tork had this Hippie Clothes
Boutique and they were supposed to be there that day.
Me and a couple of my friends took the subway and went
there. When we were leaving all of a sudden this limo
came out of nowhere and there they were sitting in the
back of it. They turned aroung and gave us a big smile
and waved. We were right in back of the limo so we got
a close look! We were screaming in the street! I'll
never forget that!

I never missed a show. I'm talking about when they originally aired, not the re-runs! 1966 was a BIG year for me! The Monkees were very special to me. They were responsible for a lot of "firsts" in my life. Davy Jones was my first crush and became the standard of how I judged male attractiveness for the rest of my life. Most of my boyfriends had and now my husband has long hair and many had some resemblence to Davy Jones.
The Monkees first album was the first "rock" album I ever owned. Mom & Dad bought it for me the Christmas after the show went on air. My mom became such a fan along with me that every time a new album came out she got it. I still have the original albums too! The grooves are pretty much gone from being played so much but I keep them for sentimental value. When they made a comeback in the 80's I bought all the albums on cassette. I haven't bought them all on CD yet. But I ripped mosted of the cassettes to MP3 and have them on my computer and burned them to CD myself.
They were largely responsible for my first big interest in music and I now sing in a rock band. The little rock concerts complete with tennis racket guitar and wooden spoon microphone that my brother and I used to put on for mom, I'm sure had something to do with it! My brother is in a rock band too, a drummer.
As far as a favorite song, I had so many it would be hard to pick just one but a few of my favorites were, Sweet Young Thing, Valleri, Daydream Believer, Mary Mary, Steppin' Stone, Gonna Buy Me a Dog & I'm A Believer.

The showed it on Nickelodeon for awhile too. Remember before there was Nick at Night. It was Nickelodeon during the day and Arts & Entertainment at night.
OK I am getting away from the subject.
My sisters jut loved the Monkees too and I watched the show with her. It was kinda goofy but fun too.
I don't know if I have a favorite song but I liked when Peter sang. I thought he was better than Davey. But he only did a couple didn't he. My sis has all their tapes but I can't quite remember.

The Monkees! Oh how they bring back memories of watching them when I was a kid. I love Daydream Believer being I daydream A LOT. Hubby likes them as well and sometimes we will still catch them on tv and now our daughter loves them. Can't beat those old shows, eh?
