Let x be that number. If one-fifth of the number is two more than one-sixth of the number, that means that x/5 = (x/6) + 2 That leads to 6x = 5x + 60, which means that x = 60. To test if the response is correct: one-fifth of 60 is 12, and one-sixth of 60 is 10. As 12 is two more than 10, that shows the result is correct: the number is 60.

Let x be a that number then according to your questiion 1/5 x = 1/6 x + 2 1/5 x - 1/6 x = 2 x/30 = 2 then x = 60 so number is 60
