sometimes friends end up being more like family

my husband doesnt make friends easy. he doesnt trust alot of people and well never aroudn the kids. he seems to always end up with friends much older then him. one of his friends died about 18 months ago. he was like a dad to us both i miss him so much. then his other friend is older and like a brother. we love him so much but we worry about him. he is waiting on a liver transplant and gets sick and i have had to rush him at over 100mph to the nearest hospital cause his lungs were filling up with blood. those are really the only friends since me and him have been together taht he has really had. i worry all the time about his bestfriend. his only friend left. i told him the other day he has to get younger friends cause i cant handle this stuff well. the other one died of a heartattack and i cried for days. it felt like i lost my dad. the kids even took him to grandparents day at school when they were little. he spent every holiday with us. funny i am closer to his 2 friends then i am with my parents.
