learning to drive

Here in B.C. Canada the law to get your licence is severe. You can take your liceance at 16. First you have to pass your learners test (80%) or more. Then you have your L. An L magnet is provided. You must display this on your vehicle to let other drivers know that you have your learners. A person with an L may drive with a instructor, someone who has a regular liceance and is 25 or older, and one family memember. After your 1-2 years is up you go and take your road test. If you pass you then get an N. An N driver does not need an instructor any longer and I believe their are limits to who they can drive. I think they can drive their children but not others. So I am 31 and I was always scared of learning to drive and put it off so long so now I am having to go through all this. I have 4 kids and because of the law I can only go driving with other people, not my husband. If my husband wants to take me driving we would have to get a babysitter as I am only allowed to drive one of my kids. I understand the reasoning behind the law they probably don't want 16 year old kids driving with a bunch of teenage sibblings and acting crazy but it is my thinking that a stipulation could be put on the liceance like "may drive with children". So that is all a hassle. I know I could have avoided all this if I had just gone years ago but oh well. What is the law to get your drivers liceance where you live?

The laws here in Australia are lot the same and are getting sticter all the time I think because of all the road accidents these days involving younger people, we are having a lot of trouble over here with what we call hoons, the law is actually taking theor cars off them and some say it is getting so bad they should be made to watch while their cars get crushed...
