Christmas shopping, have you started?

ni i havent but ill start in a few weeks to get a head start...

I haven't started shopping for Christmas at all. I'm thinking this year we won't be going all out for Christmas. My husband and I are expecting our 1st baby, so we'll be doing a lot of baby shopping mainly.

Yes I have started Christmas shopping. I feel if you start around July or August (earlier sometimes) then it doesn't cost as much come December. My husband says: "but you still spend the same money". Yes, but I'm not forced in December to get that last minute, don't care how much it costs present for Grandma Jane. Plus it is easier on my budget. If I'm going to spend say $500 at Christmas time (that is just a round figure), then why not spend $100 a month for 5 months, that is certainly easier than one big lump sum. Anyway for my family it is. I start a list on the computer as to what I have bought, how much it was (to keep things relatively even) and where I hid it (which used to be a problem for me, I'd find Christmas gifts I hid under the bed or top of closet in February!). Where do I shop? Mostly online. I have 2 little girls and shopping is a problem sometimes - quality shopping anyway. I can shop at night without chaos. Plus I own my own shopping portal so of course I shop from myself. Great question!

Fortunately for me my sister has birthday on 2nd December. While looking for her gift I can also search for christmas gift for family and friends. If my sister birthday was in any other month I would probably wait as long as possible befor starting christmas shopping because it isn't something I enjoy much. I mean it is fun when you see something and know it will make perfect gift or when you know what to buy. But walking around shops and sreaching for something my friend or family member may like is quite tiring.

I started my christmas shopping a few weeks ago, and I have my list too so I know exactly what everyone is getting and how much I am spending on them! I intend to be organised this year, the last two years I left everything until the last minute and it was a nightmare! I am not a big fan of shopping, crowds and stress so it will be done with as little time in a shopping centre as possible. God bless the internet is all I can say LOL.

I usualy wait till the last week of september, which is comming up. I have already decided who I am buying for first and ideas for what I might get them. I think it is a great idea to start christmas shopping early and go in shifts that way you can get it all out of the way before the mob of shoppers rears it's ugly head and also not spending so much money at one time.
