Groupwork in school

So school has begun and it is already giving us some dilemma. We have this group project for Engineering economics and accounting and we need to have a group of three people. This year and this semester I am really working hard to get super high marks to get my goal. I have to pick the right group mates that works fairly. It is something hard because there are friends I do not want to leave behind. At the same time I want to be in the same group with my boyfriend because I want to be with him haha. I want to work with him and I know that he also works very well in school. I do not know what to do with my other friend who might be left behind.
