The music of Evanescence has a beautiful spiritual quality that goes deep into the darkness of the soul where a torturous river bleeds into then neverending realm of painful experiences. The mind is blanketed with vivid images of self sacrifice; yet, at the same time, the music contains loving feelings. Although there is a great deal of loss within the lyrics, there is a closeness to a higher power. At least that's what I get from the lyrics of the song TOURNIQUET. It gives a real sense of who the artists in Evanescence really are, as with all of their songs. My most favorite of their songs off their first album FALLEN,is BRING ME TO LIFE. The interpretation I get from the song is that the narrator of the story is dead inside after falling into the deepest darkest pits of depression. It's about the numbness of self after crying and crying for so long that there are no more emotions left for the individual to give. He or she has become emotional drained. Dead inside. Hence the lyrics, "wake me up inside, call my name and save me from the dark." "Bid my blood to run before I come undone, save me from the nothing I've become."

I have to agree with what you have just said. There is something really powerful and dark with Evanescence's music and songs. They really have gripping songs.
