Film cameras were popular for a long time. With the invention of computers, technology changed to digital domain. So the new baby called Digital camera appeared.Being so simple in nature and elegant in appearance they became very popular.Their ability to get a clear picture with more number of pixel made them replace the the film cameras.I'm having a Canon Digital-cam and I like it more than my previous film camera.I wonder in the days to come people will forget about the film cameras.Share your views.Enjoy the digital life.
Happy mylotting.

There are some places in the world where film still reigns, and a few specialist pros who prefer film, but for aesthetic reasons, not quality any more. Even in medium format film is fighting a rearguard battle.
The noisy low light images no longer are are problem for pro level and enthusiast cameras, and digital cameras can shoot quality images at ISO speeds that no film ever reached; 1000ISO was probably the fastest film, although some could be pushed to 1200: Canon, Nikon and other manufacturers now offer sensors capable of good images at 4000ISO (and up beyond 32000!!!).
For a long time now (long in digital photographic terms) camera lenses have been a greater limit to image detail than the sensor...that is, the sensor can resolve more detail than the lens! And while digital has already outstripped film in most areas, digital imaging technology continues to develop rappidly, film has slowed greatly, and more and more of the major manufacturers - like Kodak and Agfa and Ilford - have simply quit making film, and major camera companies have followed suit, no longer making film cameras: Nikon, Canon, Kodak, Agfa, Ricoh, etc.

Tottally wrong. digital cameras sre time less consuming, easy to share, and also fast. but do you really think u got the best digital camera. no each company claim that they have antiblur, red eye detection ,etc bla bla. but the truth is every cam gots some defects. i have samsung cam its shots red eyes even if red eye detection is on. my friend have sony cam. in night i took friends pic but causes blur to pic even if night mode is on. for canon flash light is large. but best depth for a picture gives by a film camera. scientist still study on it for replacing film cam. for taking movies film cameras are still used. so film cam is stil the best

Thanks rony1masc!I agree with that film cameras give good quality picture even at night, whereas digital cameras have some blurness problem.Thats why professional photographers still use the film based cameras. But SLR cameras can give good quality photographs than the film cameras i guess. Is it correct.
