| |  I'm not sure; I know Jimi Hendrix did it at the Monterrey Pop Festival which might have been earlier than when Townshend started doing it.

| |  According to the vh1 Rockumentary on The Who, Townsend's first "incident" of guitar smashing was in a dive bar in the UK. To paraphrase, there may have been others doing it but he was the first to really make it part of the show.

| |  I heared, they were playing at this club in London somewhere, and I think, the crowd wasn't getting behind them enough... or something along thoise lines... anyway he decided to Smash his guitar, and it worked. Ofcourse this was really early on, and he wsnt sure what to do after, as it was his only guitar. Eitherway, its worked, and he was one of the first if not, the first.
Anyway, anyone reccommend songs to me and albums? I do know Pinball Wizard and Who Are you, to name a few.
