How terrible. I think it's a terrible waste of resources. Sadly, it's a sign of the times I think, where everything is thought to be disposable. If you try and get anything repaired nowadays, more often than not you will be told that it's not worth it, you may as well buy another one. A friend of mine had a problem with her washing machine. She phoned up a repairman and when she described the problem, he told her that with his call out charge and the new part, it would be more than a new machine which would come with a guarantee. The fact that in the UK, people buy a new printer rather than new ink cartridges tells you how ridiculous the situation is. I suppose if cell phones are disposable, maybe you wouldn't get as many young people being attacked and robbed for their phone. Could someone just explain to me though, what is the problem keeping a phone? It feels like people change their phone as often as their socks. I have had my current one for years - it makes calls and it texts, perfect for my needs.

Impractical and a huge waste of resources if you ask me. It could be useful if say, you were travelling abroad and didn't want to apply for roaming for your current phone, or are afraid of losing it. In that case, this kind of cell phone might actually come in useful for people who often go on trips out of the country. Gets rid of all the hassle of applying for roaming and worrying about the charges.
