I have recently opened a site that I am currently working on and I would love any ideals on how to get more traffic to my site. I have blogs, forums and have posted several banners on the net. If anyone has any ideals please share them with me.

You mentioned forums in your post, so you may already be doing this but create a signature. Many online message boards allow you to do so and that signature will appear at the bottom of each of your posts. Create a link to your website or blog. It is best if you target forums that are in line with your website. For example, if you have a website about making money online, you could visit message boards for work-at-home parents, and so forth.
I have also seen success with article directories. Write an article that is sort of related to the topic of your website. Towards the end, you can create a link. That will help to generate traffic. Also, most directories allow others to use your article, provided all links are left in tact, so there is a lot of possiblity of getting your website or blog seen.
The best way to get traffic is to use SEO (search engine optomization) to your advantage. You can find a free keyword tracker program online and search with a phrase that is related to your website. For example, with work-at-home, you will see that people are searching with the phrases "work-at-home jobs," "work-at-home opportunties," "work-at-home scams," and so forth. By incorpating these phrases into your website, the search engines should pick up your site, resulting in more traffic.
