Do You Think Okinawa Is Part of Japan?  | |  Many Okinawan people, especially the old generation said Okinawa is not part of Japan. They said Okinawa is under the Kingdom of Ryukyu and it's an independent state, not Japan. What do you think?

Although there's a pretty strong American influence too because of the military bases.
