When does Suicide hour end???

What I mean is, at what age does the suicide age draw to a close?
When my kids were babies we had the suicide hour between 5-6pm (dinner time) and that was Ok, I dealt with it, but hell! 5 years on and we are still experiencing it - every day between 5-6pm we have a breakdown in all things childlike (sometimes including me - lol). (my kids are 5 (m)years and 3 (m/f) year old twins)
The kids are fine up until 5pm and then the wheels just fall off - everything. I have tried to feed them a bit earlier so they don't get too hungry - doesn't work, they aren't hungry enough to eat! Put them to bed earlier - then they wake up too early.
My questions to you are these - what did you do to get your kids out of this mode of behaviour? How old were your kids when it stopped for you? Have you got any tips to save my sanity? Did you join in the general uproar at this time everyday or did you manage to keep yourself dignified?
Thanks all

Super Nanny - hmmmmmmm, good suggestion, but to be honest I think she would just laugh at us. The kids aren't that bad really, it is just that there are 3 of them all at the same time and they are still so young so we end up with a continual rivalry for mum's attention.
You are very lucky that your son doesn't give you any trouble, perhaps because he is an only child and doesn't have to compete for your attention? He is lucky too. :¬)
We do have a schedule although sometimes it is hard to keep to it, but we do usually manage it Ok. The problem is mainly when they are tired and cranky or hungry while waiting for their dinner.
Thanks for your response.
