i just heard this on the radio and thought aww how sad (like 5 mins ago coming back from the concert) my sister absolutely loves them shes away on hols at the moment she will be gutted was going to text her but thought mmm shall wait. Fav song erm thats a hard one breath probably there are alot to choose from lol

Richard is now playing in that "Great Gig in the Sky".

I loved the Floyd and also got to see them live at Knebworth in England.
Dont ask me what year it was LOL, but I do remember the light show was incredible, amazing, and they did the entire album of Dark Side of the Moon...my favourite is the whole album, I would have to say..I am shocked that Richard has now passed as well as Syd..unbelievably young..shocking. I just saw this news a few minutes ago. All the really great ones are dying, it seems. Without a doubt, my favorite Pink Floyd song is "Another Brick in the Wall." I think Pink Floyd's place in musical history is secure. Take care.

pretty much anything that Pink Floyd did was pure masterpiece.
but my favorite along with probably half the human population has got to be anything from "Dark Side Of The Moon"
i was extremely privileged to have seen Pink Floyd when there "Momentary Lapse Of Reason" tour came tripping through The Metrodome in Minneapolis a few years ago.

it's sad to see Richard go............but can you imagine the band they're going to have when we finally get there?

Yes, I heard... and wanted to start a discussion about it but didn't have time to before now (10 pm). Glad you did. As for my favorite? Other than all of them? Probably all of Dark Side. Or maybe, Money...

My husband was really hoping for one more tour before it was over. But now with Sid and his problems and Richard Wright dying I think the dream is gone.
He saw them but I never had.
The Wall was big when I was in school. I really love Comfortably Numb and Hey You.
I also love Time. The clock in it sounds just like the old mantle clock my grandmother used to have. It sounded just like that, cool I think.

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is my favorite and just about everthing else they wrote! :)

I am having a toast to Richard and I'll also be having a toast to Australian Pink Floyd... Grateful that they can re-live the original band so faithfully! :)

I'm gutted, plain an simple, I hope he can meet up with Syd and have a blast! phew picking some faves, nearly all of them are brilliant. I love stuff like 'breathe' and 'wish you were here'. Great gig in the sky is just beautiful. 'welcome to the Machine' and 'have a cigar' are just superb.I could go on all day about how their music influenced the Rock genre and led to really cool syths and effects which led ultimatley to dance music.
