Should skateboards be made illegal in schoolyards or on campus grounds ?  |

|  Are there any dangers to children using skateboards on school grounds ? Why are bicycles allowed on school grounds but not skateboards , as this is the case in many school yards and campus grounds ?
Some will say that skateboards don't have brakes to stop if another child runs out in front of them but is it the fault of the skateboard itself or the fault of the child who ran out in front of the skateboard ?
What about children who use a skateboard to get to school ? Should they not be allowed to do this anymore ? What about making it leagal as transportation to and from school as long as it was not used on school grounds ? Should transportatin modes impact the lives of others ?
Do you feel skateboards should be allowed or should not be allowed on school and campus grounds and why or why not ?

| |  While I think children should be allowed to ride skateboards or bikes to school, once they get on the school campus, they should walk for the safety of the other children. Bike riders should push their bikes to the storage areas and skateboarders should carry their boards.

| |  i agree with you. also, just my two cents, i HATE those stupid sneakers that have the little wheels underneath. i think they are so dangerous, especially when the kids are using them in grocery stores and places like that. i have gotten run into a few times, and really the parents should not be allowing them to use the skates indoors. acutally, many stores have signs now that say they are not allowed.

| |  Yes they should be allwoed to take skateboards to school cause they are not hurting anyoen and if someoen comes out in front of them then that is there fault cause if somene came out in front of a bike then it would be the same thing cause they were not watching where they were going . It would not be nice for someone to get hurt but you can get hurt anywhere you go with or without a skateboard .

| |  yeah i think they should be allowed at school . They really are no more dangerous then a bike would be and if somebody gets hurt then it would be because they were not watching and they could deal with this if it happened but a kid could be hurt running so are they going to ban running outside at the shcool too .

Sorry I'm late on this one..
I think they should be allowed as long as the owner is responsible...There shouldn't really be any reason not to allow them...
I could see if they banned the individual for being irresponsible then I would say yes, but only to those that can't be responsible about it...

| |  I think that skateboards are one of the most dangerous things on wheels. I think they should be illegal anywhere but in special skateboard park areas. They should not be a mode of transportation, rather a recreational sport. i am sick and tired of being hit by skateboards on sidewalks.
