We haven't been able to go hiking in a while. My husband has been out of town so often that we haven't had time. I can't wait until he's home and we can start going regularly again, especially now that fall is almost here. It will be nice getting out and about when it's not too hot. Also, taking pictures of the leaves changing colors will be cool.

I pray that your husband will be able to come home soon, so that you and he can do the things that you enjoy doing this time of year. It is nice weather for hiking and that is good exercise, the leaves are changing and they are getting beautiful. I don't get a chance to see them I do get pictures of them through the internet. I have friends that visit the mountains during the fall season.

He said last night they are predicting three more weeks before all of Houston and the surrounding areas are back up and running. They are bringing more crews in though, so hopefully it will go faster.

Hey sunnflr. I bet hiking during early fall is beautiful if you have some nice woods and parks near you. No doubt it gets to be a drag after your husband has been gone a long while. He might be too tired to hike once he gets home, after working those 16 hour days! The leaves are so beautiful when they start changing. That's about the only thing I miss from up north, very early fall when the leaves change color and fall off the trees.

Yeah, he'd have to be home for more than a couple days for us to start back. He does have to rest up after being on storm duty.

We live in Breckenridge, CO for a few more weeks and we love to go hiking. We aren't hard core because we have little campers but when we bust out on a trail the kids seem to like it. There are little trails all around us and a lake nearby so its all about deciding where to go. Hope you get to lace up your boots soon.

Oh we'll be back out there for sure, whenever the hubby gets to stay home for any length of time. After storm season probably.I believe hiking is a great family activity.
