Have you been?  | |  I would love to go to Venice - it is one of my top ten places to visit in the world. I just wondered if anybody here at mylot has been and if so where abouts did you stay? I would like to stay near to St. Marks which I know will be more expensive but if I only get to go once then I want to stay close!
Has anyone been and can recommend any hotels?

It was in january, during two or three cold and foggy days which also fit very well to the atmosphere of the city. Distances are not big there, so any place is suitable. I stayed in a youth hostel which was not too comfortable but cheap. I last time saw Venice just two days ago from a plane on my way to Austria.

The streets with all the old buildings were so beautiful and the canals looked so charming. We liked wandering around St Mark's Square and going over all the quaint looking bridges. We went out on boats to explore the islands and found one with some pastel colored rows of houses. I can't suggest a good hotel since we were there many years ago. We are now divorced. I hope that you will visit Venice my friend and have an amazing time. x
