I used to be bullied at school all the time. I was a very passive girl and never did anything about it, I just tried to stay out of their way. I told my mum about the ostracizing I got when I in grade 4 at primary school and she got the teacher to watch me and the teacher did not see anything so thought I was wrong. She told mum that I was always surrounded by people. Hmm yes I was. I wanted to be part of the group but the group was always being nasty.
In high school it got worse but I never mentioned it to her after she did not believe me about primary school. That is until the day she found blood on my school uniform. A boy had stuck a pin in my back and I was not going to tell her about it but when she found the blood I had to. She made a big fuss a the school and he had to apologize. That did not help much at all although he did not try that again.
I was still passive. At this point I had never fought back. Then one day they all ganged up on me in the classroom when the teacher was out of the room and I snapped. I fought back and I won. They were shocked that I fought back and claimed it was all a joke but they never bothered me again after that.
Have you ever been bullied at school? If so what did you do about it?

Well it was the not so intelligent ones that bullied me. I don't see bullies as intelligent. I used to run away from them as well and stay out of their way or hide.
It was only when it came to a head and I fought back that I realised that I was stronger than I realised and that I could fight back. That I did not have to take it.

I was bullied when I was still in grade school. I was taught well by my parents not to fight back whenever someone tried to hurt me, well i guess they never mean unless physically, but like you I never did fight back. Girls usually a lot taller and a lot bigger than I am are the ones bullying me. I guess they are just envious of me. I was loved by many except by them (2 bullies). There's this one time that my friends told me that it's about time to fight back. They told me that no one should bully me. And so I did and I won. But I guess it had to happen cuz it made me a stronger person now.

I agree that it makes you a stronger person. It also teaches the bully that it is not ok to pick on others, that there will be consequences. I think these days there seems to be so much bullying and they are so nasty.
The parents talk about how bad it is for their children but it seems to me that the children need to supported to learn to stand up for themselves. They need to learn to have the confidence in themselves.
After all when they leave school and go to work they will find their are still bullies around and people need support to fight back.
