According to BBC News website "Harry Potter author JK Rowling has donated £1m to the Labour Party, the party has announced."
This news sets me thinking. Do famous authors and actors give donations for publicity stints? Do such authors/actors betray their fans when they get attached with a political party? When we buy a book of our favourite author or a CD of our favourite singer, do we end up supporting a cause or a party that we might be totally against?

I read about the £1m in the paper today and I was utterly astonished. Of course we can't blame these celebrities for giving money to their favourite political party. If I had millions like JK Rowling, then I would probably do the same. We most likely are supporting a political party when we buy cds and books but I wouldn't let me put it off buying cds or books. Maybe I could just download what a want from a pirate site...he, he.

I would always like to bought things that I do loved especially for my favorite writer
and it is Steven Spielberg but it does not mean that i have to support also the Organization that they would like to support it
also the same way they do if it is against and if they will be in touched of any political party I would not felt bad for them for they also have their right as a human being.......

ya i absolute agree with. Why we buy books for those author who joined in politics for their fame. In our country there are some favorite author who joined in politics but they lose their popularity. Because no man dont like to see his favorite author in the dusty politics. I used the dusty because if u see the modern world politics u must understand.
