Making Your Own Cross-Stitch Designs

September 20, 2008 1:20pm CST
Of the cross-stitchers here on Mylot, have any of you managed to find a way to create your own patterns? I'd love to make some Disney's Lilo and Stitch cross-stitches and have looked on the internet for ready made patterns, but I haven't been successful. Possibly because looking for "Stitch" cross-stitch, isn't easy to use a search engine for! I'd like to be able to find a way to make my own patterns, but I'm not sure how I'd go about it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me please?

I don't cross stitch, but my mother does. She has done some amazing work. Not sure if she has ever made her own design, I'll have to ask her, but the things she has done are absolutely brilliant. She's made some of the most amazing cros stitch works I have ever seen.

I love Cross-Stitch. My mum showed me how to do little samplers when I was a kid and I've pretty much been doing it ever since. I've always followed patterns before though, with only my own minor variations. I've not created one entirely my own before.
