Well Project started in 2004 with name code named Blackcomb . which was later renamed to Windows 7(As its 7th Win 32 OS) or code named Vienna.
This Windows OS is considered as BIG ONE.
one thing is Microsoft has fixed the bugs they found in Vista like Minimizing Ram Consumption as Vista needed more around 800 MB ram to work smoothly ,its told Vienna needs only 500 Mb. and this time they have made it hardware dependent, so you have to install Vienna on Specific hardware like core2duo and it does not support IDE,SATA harddrives.
so they have tried to go how it is with Apple PC's.
with hundreds of new features wich we never ever dreamed of... cool new look
Vienna Goes Way beyond Anything.
So do you think Vienna Will Change future of Windows OS???
i think its going to be massive when all its features is concerned and since they have made strictly hardware specific it will run at MAX performance so i feel its going to make a difference.
So Do you think the same???
Please type in your Comments.
thank you.

I think 99% of windows OS changes are BS. The top 10% of users aren't going to change their OS (ie people who use their PCs for more than checking emails, Word, etc).
Microsoft keeps releasing number that 86% of people are happy with Vista, what about the other 12%? That isn't even all computer users, just people who have used Vista. Hundred of thousands of people haven't converted and won't.
There are a ton of users with IDE and SATA hard drives. Sounds like another reason for people to HAVE to buy a new PC.
If they are going to be like Apple, why no just go buy an Apple?
I am a high end computer user, I have Windows XP...it is going to take more than just a few fancy upgrades to convince me to change my OS.

Ya This Vienna OS will be Preinstalled in New PC's and Laptops that are going to be released how it is with vista and like you said if they are going to be like apple pc's why not go for apple, well if you need Windows we should go for PC not Apple computer and apple Pc has MAC OS, even though we can Install Windows In Apple PC but its still run in Emulator and its annoying.
And try running MAC on Normal Pc, well it wont or try running MAC OS X on G1 or G2 System, well it wont as its not designed for it.
And previously Windows was designed to work on any hardware but thing is it never used to perform to its max , but in vienna they have made it hardware specific so that it can utilize hardware to the max and work with full performance like how in windows 2008 the virtualization technology can be enabled only with system which has VT/V processors, but now they have made it work even with normal processor, am not sure my brother-in-law told me that it can be enabled on normal processors.
And people who need security will go for Vienna like how some companies have upgarded from Windows 2003 server to windows 2008 server as it has more security features and new virtualization technology where we can run many virtual servers in one host server there by saving cost and power consumption..
If we need better security and better features we need to upgrade else just stick to old one.
And most of the people dont upgrade as its will be expensive or they are already adjusted to old OS and find it difficult to operate on new and people who startup with new PC With New OS find it easy to operate as that was the first they started with and it was also proved in Windows code named Mojave experiment.
And the in Future hardware or PC's Windows Xp wont be supported ,so you have no other option but to upgrade to Vista or Vienna Or if you dont like Vista or Vienna you have to get Linux as it will support almost any hardware or get yourself a Apple PC.
Hope this answered your question.
thank you for replying.
take care.

Thing is if people like their current PCs they aren't going to upgrade and loose the features they like. If your hardware isn't going to work - or even your accessories - who is going to upgrade?
Even though PCs came with Vista, you could - I think you still can - opt for XP to be installed - or you can buy a copy and do it yourself.
Why would anyone run a Mac OS on a PC or Windows on a Mac?
Seems like a HUGE waste of money to me.
A lot of companies upgraded to the new server system, but a lot of companies didn't Even those that did upgrade didn't do it when the product first came on the market.

ya you are right as some people are adjusted to their current pc they usually wont prefer to upgrade to new one's and we can even opt for xp in pc which has vista pre installed, everything has its own advantage , dont think am freak but i tried to run harddrive formatting virus on my system with xp and vista, well it ran successfully on xp on and got toasted but it was not able to execute in vista.
i have many reasons why i want to stick with vista.
i had try to run a windows 95 application on xp and vista.
it failed to run on xp in normal mode but ran under compatiblity mode but in vista it ran in fun instance .
i have beta tested many applications on xp and vista and overall i liked with vista and i like to keep upto date.
only problem we face is that in future hardware wont support xp, so we either have to stick to our old systems or upgrade to new ones or get our pc's assembled so that its compatible with xp.
but i totally agree with what ever you said.
thank you.

I wouldn't mind being someone lucky enough to receive a new computer with the newest Windows on it to test the OS. It would be neat in order to compare it to my current computer which runs Vista. As to make a change just because of a few new features without being able to test it, I wouldn't do it. Yes, Vista is a memory hog, but I've gotten use to it. I prefer XP but don't have an OEM to install on my computer.
I think a lot of people got tired of the Vista hype and will be hesitant to take a leap of faith to a newer OS. Many people tried Vista and didn't like it. They downgraded to XP. Yes, there are a few people who would swear by Vista. Those may be the first people who take the plunge and purchase the new OS or a new computer with the OS on it. Yet, for those people who have stayed with XP, it may be a hard sell.

ya your are right but in future hardware or computer Windows Xp wont be supported and so there is no other option but to upgrade to Vista or Vienna. and Vienna will be big one and in microsoft code named Mojave experiment it was proved that vista just needs exceptance as people who rejected Vista told its good Os.
some people just listen to other saying that vista is bad ,and they dont even give it a try and say its bad. most of the bugs found in vista was fixed in service pack 1 which is available for free download in microsoft site.
and there as some things where vista kinda looks slower than xp for example copying in vista is slower than xp, the reason is in xp it doesnt look for total free space available in destination drive and just starts copying and when the free space is over we end up with an error saying not enough free space so in case we are moving any file all our work of moving will be wasted but in vista this is calculated in the begining and so in case it doesnt have free space,it warns in the begining.
there are lots of other stuffs where vista looks slower than xp but it has its advantage.
and i have personally tested vista and xp on two machines.
in Hyper threaded pc xp loads under 12 seconds and vista around 20 but in core2duo vista loads in 10 seconds and funny thing is xp takes more than 20 seconds on that same pc.
this is as xp is not originally designed for core2duo .
there are lots i got to say but don't have sufficient time.
thank you for replying.
take care.
