My daughter is afraid of everyone?  | |  I have a two year old daughter and it seems like, she dosen't like any kind of stranger to get close to her. In a way sometimes I think this is a good thing. This way not anyone can just come near her and grab her or try to take her away or something. But than I thought, what's going to happen when she starts school will she be like this with her teacher? I took her for a hair cut the first time she did it, it was fine. But when I took her a few days ago she just did not want the stylist to come near her. At first I thought, it must be the lady. But than I took her to the lady I had taken her to the year before, and she did the same thing. As soon as I put her in the chair, she just started holloring, screaming histerically. I did my best tell her to let her know that it was okay, that I was there, that there was nothing wrong. We had dora the explorer on the TV, we tried giving her a lolly pop, which she would not take. Finally she calmed down a bit and sat her on my lap, still somewhat uncomftable, still not exsactly too happy, the stylist was able to cut her hair. Later on we went to the park and one of my girlfriends tried to carry her and my daughter started to want to cry. Do any of your children do this? am I doing something wrong? or is this normal? I don't think its too of the wall, I'm just nerveouse as to when she starts school, If she's still like this what am I gonna do?....

She is thinking that they are not safe with them and all they want is to be with thier mother always. Yes, at first she really going to find hard when she go at school so as early you need to teach her to be strong and never afraid with people around. Take her somewhere where lots of people and lots of kids to play with. When she's at school teacher are allowed parents to accompany thier kids with that age. You just wait outside where she can see you, until that she will enjoy being at school and lots of friends then she be alright.

My daughter was like that. Actually right up until she started preschool, she wouldnt' even talk to my mother and sisters! She would hide behind me whenever anyone spoke to her. I worried about her all the time, but then I enrolled her in preschool and it was the best thing I could have done for her. She hated to go at first because she didn't want me to leave, but I would leave her sometimes crying. After one year in preschool, she went to pre-kindergarten for a full day. She really just needed to get away from mommy and get some friends her own age. Now she is 8 and never stops talking~ to everyone! Give it time and she will open up.
