i used all the shampoos there is for my dog, but none is really quite effective. What i use is the product called FRONTLINE, it comes in spray and small plastic tubes. It is very good and effective.

hi, I am really skeptical in using chemicals on my pug. She has bulging eyes, and i am scared that the shampoo for tick will harm her eyes. Thus, I use the biological way. Hee. I read from a website, it says mix a small amount of minced garlic to your pet's food. The ticks/ fleas don't like blood smelling like garlic. I don't know why, but it actually worked! But then there are still a few remaining on my pug's body, but not as much as before.in fact, much much better now.

You can bathe the dog in an oatmeal shampoo to soothe the skin, and then apply frontline plus- you have to apply the frontline 2 days before or after a bath though. I personally use brewers yeast & garlic supplements on my dogs- they're chewable tablets that they get every day. I originally bought them to help with growing coat on one of my dogs many years ago (he'd lost hair from fleas), and realized that he was the only dog I had with no fleas. So, I put all of my dogs on the supplement, and haven't had a flea problem in many years, and all my boys have beautiful coats. The supplements are cheap, easy to give (my dogs love them) and it's not a chemical. I pay $30 for 4,000 tablets, and they get one per 10 pounds of weight (they do make them for larger dogs too).
