soccer or football!  | |  having gone to school with quite a few americans,soccer got used alot in our school,but i cant stand calling the great game soccer and much prefer football,what about you?

Worldwide the sport you're referring to is called football, because there is no reason to be called otherwise. Only a few countries have other types of football: Canadian Football, American Football, Australian Football, Gaelic Football.
Rugby football is simply called rugby so there's no confusion with football.
Call it football, because it's the right name for it!
