I was walking this evening at a local state park and saw a ladies purse in a ditch on the side of the road. All kinds of thoughts raced through my mind. I was terrified because there was noone else around and my firt thought was where is the lady? I climbed down the bank and picked it up and could see that it was a very nice Gucci purse. I took it to the police department which was just down the road and eeplained. They went though it and found identification and $1500.00 in cash in it. They said they were going to contact her and see what was going on and I ask for the ladies name they acted like I was a criminal or something. They didn't give it to me and it just made me mad. Now I'm wondering if they did return it or contact her or just keep the money. What would you do?

Well I do not trust police as I have had some bad experiences in the past with them. Personally I would have not gone to the police station, and I would have looked through her purse myself to see if there was any contact details and tried to contact her myself. If there was no contact number or address I would have looked at one of her cards and contacted directory assistance and seen if I could get her phone number that way.

The reason I didn't go through it was because it really scared me. When I seen that purse the hair on my neck stood up. Didn't like that walk , I can tell you that. LOL

OK I have to commend the police department now. I received a phone call today from the police department to come to the station concerning the purse I found. (I almost skipped the country!) And the lady had come in and claimed her purse and left me a $100.00 reward. Not only did they contact her but they didn't keep my money either!! KUDOS to the police department. So sorry I doubted you! :)

A smart spy ...er...person :) would have looked through it before and gotten a name for it. ;) That way you could return it personally and possibly be rewarded with...a reward! :) But don't worry, I'm positive that the police returned it with everything still intact. And, I can see, from their perspective, why they would question what you would want that lady's name for. Worst case scenario they thought of: They give you the name, you track her down (because you know she's loaded because of a Gucci purse and $1500 cash), then you rob her, because the police gave you her name. ...I need to stop watching so much Law & Order. :)

Well I need to stop watching so much of it too! That's why I wasn't a good spy! LOL I didn't want to touch it much less go through it. It scared the crap out of me to be honest. Oh well hopefully all turned out well for her.
