What do you like better , carpet , cushion floor , or wood ?  

In my house, it's wood through out the whole house. It has it's pros and cons. The bad thing about having wood is that in the winter, the floor gets painfully cold that you have to wear 2 pairs of socks AND slippers. Now, the con is that in the summer it cools you down, and since we have a puppy who isn't potty-trained yet, it's easier to clean up the mess. I would rather have carpet in the bedrooms. For some reason, the feeling of carpet on your feet before you lay in bed is relaxing and comforting.

Well I am unusual on this topic. I am from Florida and everyone there has tile or concretish floors (due to roach infestations). I am now in Ohio raised 3 kids,5 grandkids, a dog,and six parrots with carpet (Even carpet in the bathroom,argh). I would give anything to have tile floors, and just have few throw rugs to keep feet warm as needed. I guess it would depend on your lifestyle and how much wear and tear. To me carpet always seams dirty, wondering kind or mold, dirt and soot trapped under there just makes me sick. My youngest is 17, when she leaves the nest maybe my husband will let me have tile/ or linoleum. But Personally I would choose anything but carpet

I love wood the best and I had wooden floors in every room in my last house except the bathrooms where I had tiles. However, I found that there was a lot of cleaning on the wooden floors. If I didn't damp dust them every day, by the end of the week I had balls of fluff like tumbleweed all over the house. When I moved into my new house last month, I got carpets on all the floors and now I only need to vacuum them once every week.

My favorite is wood floor and this is what we have in our living room . We have cushion floor in our kitchen and carpet upstairs . Eventually I would like to own hardwood floor upstairs as well but I think I like the cushion floor in the kitchen because I think that hard wood floor would be ruined in a kitchen . Right now it is nice to have carpet upstairs for when it is cold in the winter but I don't care for carpet because we never really wash carpets , not the way we do the rest of our floors and that thought actaully makes me sick to think how dirty the capret probably is !!
