Murders you heard of as a child

Do you remember hearing of any crimes that left an impression on you as a child? There are a few I can think of that left a lasting impression. One was a woman who baked her baby in the oven. I was pretty young when it happened and I just couldn't believe that someone could actually do that to a baby, let alone his own mother. Two others I believe left an impression mostly because they were so close to home. One was a woman who was shot by her boyfriend. After shooting the woman he chased her 11 year old son outside and shot him too. Then the last was a 17 year old girl who was working in a clothing store. Someone had gone into the store after closing and murdered her. She was stabbed many many times. They never caught the guy. After it was played on Unsolved Mysteries, a guy had called claiming he had committed the crime. They played the phone call on all the local radio stations but they never caught the guy.
