I've seen Super Nanny. I like the show. It seems she doesn't just come in and make the kids behave, and then leave. She teaches the parents how to deal better with their kids, not just discipline, but also meeting the kids' needs, and the parents' needs.
Yes, I think it can really help in some families where things have gotten off track, especially if the parents are disorganized and just can't pull everything together. She streamlines it and makes it work smoother. She teaches them parenting skills.
Whether they continue improving after she leaves I think depends on their level of commitment and dedication.

I only saw one showing of Super Nanny and I thought it was great. There was never a time when I couldn't handle my children, that is, when they were small. The teenage years were much different. I can't help thinking that some of these shows are a set up to rake in the audiences as I can't see kids going from being little devils to being little angels all because Super Nanny comes in.

I have watched both these shows and enjoy watching both of them but don't know that I believe that when the show is over that the children reamin perfect little angels because no one is perfect so there is no way the children would be perfect . If the parents contiune with the routine they are given then I would imagine things would be better then they were before but if they slacked on the routine then I beleive it woudn't take much to have a chaotic house again .

I like the show Super Nanny. I think what she does is very effective. She doesn't just go to your house and make your kids behave, she teaches parents techniques to deal with whatever problems and issues their children specifically have. So after she leaves it's really up to the parents to make things work and continue to use the techniques that she taught them. I think sometimes it just takes a fresh point of view, an outside look, for parents to really see what is going on with their children and why the things they are doing aren't working. I also think they are great shows because I'm sure there are parents out there watching that are going through the same things the families that are on the show are going through and it's nice to know that you aren't the only one and to see different ways to deal with things.
