Do you think commercials make people spend money they can't afford?

I think commercials are designed to sell product...and from that standpoint I would say, "sure", except for the fact that people are not mindless drones who act aimlessly based on the programming provided to them by television producers. The reality is that while a commercial will try to sell you a product, it is up to the consumer to spend the money on that product. The result there is that the consumer is spending money they can't afford.

For some people yes. But with the way things are today, with the economy some people will hold back. And re-think "do I really need that?" I think at this point people are being more careful.

I think commercials do really influence how people buy. I think especially in the case of those 'amazing product' infomercials, some people end up spending a lot of money on things they don't need and won't use because it won't work well. TV makes those things just look really great and they're really not. I also think TV commercials placed at the right times for children to see really helps parents spend more money than needed. The kids see those products and obviously want them so if they kick an scream and cry enough parents end up buying some of those items for children so they spend more than they really need to.

i see them as very annoying and i do think that a big problem with people being in debt is those pesky commercials and everyone having no patience in wanting to earn and wait for something..

Hello mylotting friends!!! In my opinion commercials make people buy things that they don't really need. This means that people are buying things that are not ncessarly necessities. This may lead to buying more than one can actually afford. happy mylotting!!!
