drapes, blinds, shades?

Well I too have blinds all through my house, but to me the house looked to bare because I too was used to always having curtains in all of my other houses, so I also have curtains on my windows too along with the blinds, but I have them tied back at all times.

I am fortunate in that I never had to even make this decision when I moved into the apartment I am in now! Every window has those wooden plantain type shutters already there. If I had of needed to buy window dressings though I probably would have gone for blinds too. Much cheaper and pretty easy to put up! Drapes can sometimes be better in a bedroom though because they block more side light.

We can't see the neighbors from he and they can't see us so i'll have the luxury of doing whatever I want. At the moment the living room just has 3 lace valances, and the back bedroom has full length room darkening curtains. All the other windows are currently naked.

I'm not so fond of blinds or shades. I'd rather just use curtains. I haven't thought much about what I'll do here although I have formed a partial color scheme/design. I might try using natural elements since we're surrounded by trees and weeds.

Right now we have blinds in every room. This apartment came with really nice wood blinds, no need to cover them up. My son does have curtains up in his room because my mom made him some to go with everything else in his room.

What the tweek are drapes?..sounds like something spookit ..Ha they are called curtains here,kindly remember that when talking to me

I have drapes/curtains,blinds & nothing..why?
No reason i just do,either they were cheap or free so i used them.
There i nothing on back livingroom window as curtain pole fell doon & i have had no time to put it back up..that was in 1994

I have drapes....I'd RATHER have good blinds in a dark wood. Maybe next year... When we moved in here and bought the place they had them, and I had REALLY hoped they'd leave them, but no...they wanted to take them with them. Darn it! I will get them eventually.

In the little house that I rent, there are blinds, curtains that I made, and drapes over the picture window.

The blinds were here already. At least I didn't have to worry about the expense of those!

I made the curtains for the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen from fabric that I already had. I was going to use the fabric for the windows in the apartment that I previously rented, but I had a chance to move back to my hometown, so I used it here.

When I built my house I did so with the idea that most of the windows would have no window coverings at all. I prefer neither drapes, blinds or shades.

Almost evey apartment in this country is equipped with blinds in every window. Apart from that there are thin semitransparent courtains to be used during the day. Blinds are good to isolate the house from the sun, and from the cold at night in winter. Modern ones are often made of aluminium, bad ones of plastic, and old ones of heavy wood.

I have only drapes and blinds in my home. No shades. I considered putting a shade on my back door. The kind that is inside the door, between the glass. But I think I will leave it with nothing.
