Hi everyone!
I would like to buy a new HDTV television. I am choosing between Plasma and Samsung LCD TV. I like them both. They both look beautiful and sleek. The picture colors are also vibrant and the sounds are perfect. The only difference is the price. The Plasma is more expensive but I think its worth it cause of it's enormous size. There is a promo on one of my favorite stores and Plasma is offered at a very low price of 130,000php. The Samsung LCD is at 80,000php.
Which one do you think would be the best to buy and that is worth its price? What are the different advantages of a Plasma and LCD TV. Which of the two TVs do you think is could last long?

It totally depens as well on how much money you want to spend on it, and what you wanna do with it. As far as I know, Plasma isn't good working, and I here many complaints over it, like not existing pixels are lighting..and Many more complaints! Just think about yourself, why are they selling it so cheap? Because it's garbage! Most plasma TVs don't have a long life as well..
If I had to choose myself, I would ofcourse choose for an LCD TV! These are much more trustable, easier to watch (light is different), and much much better quality then on PLasma! I've heard with LCD it doesn't matter as well on which side you are sitting, you'll still be able from whereever you are to see the whole picture on a LCD TV, and that's why I would surely choose for LCD!
I hope this is any advice for you! Good luck with finding yourself an TV!

sorry for the late reaction..i don't check my mail so often for responses xD
Anyway, my uncle have bought a plasma TV 4 years ago. From a good brand as well, Samsung! And as first he didn't had any problems with it, but suddenly he didn't wanted to switch on anymore, so he brought it back to the warranty, and they said he had to pay for it because it didn't fit for the warranty, and that it was his own fault! very weird..and i've heard many more complaints on the internet as well about plasma TVs..that's why everyone is buying nowadays TFT or LCD tvs..Because the quality is much better, and it lasts longer! Another example about plasma TVs is that what I have heard, they usually work for 4 years.. 5 years MAX, after that, they will start showing many problems..screen getting green..pixels that don't exist show up..scrathes..the screen gets HOT, which makes it break down, and getting openings in it..and if there's one, you can throw your whole pplasma tv away! And that after 5 years..you understand?
I'd really would only buy a LCD TV like I said if I needed to, but I would
N E V E R !! buy a plasma TV..
Oh yeah, when you're shopping for the TV, look at different stores, and on the internet as well! Usually, TVs are cheaper on the internet, and there's more warranty as well!
Have fun with looking around for your new TV mate!

LCD is better than Plasma..
With LCD you don't have a bad reflection of light in the screen (for example when the sun shines in it)..
With LCD if a pixel is broken, you will only see one pixel broken (you will not even notice it), with Plasma when one pixel is broken a whole line in the screen will be broken..
Have a nice day..

Plasma offers a better picture quality off axis, but for most viewing angles LCD is on a par. All this talk of latency...most LCD's have a latency of less then 15ms...which is below the point that most people see a difference between what's happening & what they see.
Plasma TV's are troublesome though. If they are mounted at an angle it can upset the gas inside them and cause discoloration and an uneven picture quality. If you want to mount your TV on a wall of tilting stand LCD would be a better option.

. I will take note everything you shared. But why did you say that plasma don't have long life?
! I think I'm leaning more on the LCD. The life is limitless not like what you said about the plasma. I surely would want a TV that I can use for a long time.
