 As for me,I need to admit,as I am when it comes to shopping.Unless I put my money in some bank deposit.I cannot just stand cash in my hand,the next moment I will be in a shop looking for or buying stuff.It is not that I buy stuff for myself but I have this habit of getting stuff for other family members and I end up spending more than I should.I save money but when I buy things,I just cannot afford to stick to my budget.What about you?

Also, I have a stong sense of self control when it comes to shopping. I could tell myself that not to buy something at that time because of this or that.

| 3. kenzie45230 (2467) | 1 year ago |  No, I'm definitely not a spendthrift. My dad was quite a cheapskate, although he would have said thrifty, I think. I learned to be frugal from him and from my mother, and thank goodness I did. When I was a single mom, I was able to support my son with only about $800 a month coming in (1997-2003). Our rent and utilities were $500 of that. And yet my son never knew we were poor. He very rarely was denied what he wanted for birthdays or Christmas, we ate out, and had a good computer and internet access, and a car that got us where we wanted to go. He had no idea how little we had comming in every month...not untill he reached adulthood, then he marveled at what we had with so little cash available.

6.  mahjonggg (1366) | 1 year ago |  I'm at the other end, Dear Brisk. I like sparing some money till I'll have some more reason to use it than just going into a shop and spend it. Sometimes I try out something new (it's rather a food like a brand of cheese) to check it. But I'm saving for the next generation, myself and my closer members of family. I never spend more what I have.
