Most of us love to have a pet..And most of them prefer having a puppy(dog)...Only few prefer to have a kitten(cat). They are really cute and very funny when they are small.People who don't like noise may prefer a cat,and who prefer to have a protection to their house prefer a dog...I would prefer having dog even we don't need any protection..Because we just love to have it...So Mylotters which one do you perfer..??And why..?

That's a tough one because I actually have a dog and cat that I have raised since they were a kitten and a puppy. We did get our dog first so I think that I will go with a puppy. My dog is more of a family member while my cat just lays around the house. Not that I don't love my cat just as much. With a puppy, you have to go through the house breaking process but you don't have to have to change a litter box! But then again, puppies eat everything including shoes! I would still choose a puppy first though because there is a lot more you can do with your dog. We walk our dog and our kids come along, or we go to the park. My daughter has learned more responibilty with our dog more than she has with our cat. I feel we can be closer to our dog than our cat even though I love and enjoy both of our pets--and my husband and I have to share our bed with both of them!

I already have a puppy- so I don't need one. With the stage he is now, chewing everything in sight, I wouldn't want to do that all over again. I have 3 cats, so a kitten is out of the question unless one of them gets pregnant. You spoke of having a guard dog for the house... well, one of our cats is our guard- well, when it comes to other animals. We had a stray dog come to the door one day and she hissed and spatted so much I thought she was going to claw her way through the screen! I guess after being here since 2003, she doesn't like her territory being invaded.
