So lets say you own a gun... is it for hunting, collecting, or personal protection? Would you use it in self defense? My husband owned his handgun when I met him. He taught me all about it and how to shoot it. We used to shoot them regularly until we had children and then it became almost never but we kept one of them. Now as a mother, I of course had the kids safety in mind but in two different ways. I consider where and how we store the weapon to keep it safely out of reach, sight, knowledge of my children. I also consider it very important for me to keep up with it, where it is, how to use it, ect in the event that I should have to use it to protect my children. I am concerned with the ease of buying and owning a gun, but I also wouldn't take that right away from people who pass the federal checks to own one. I am a sahm and however weird it would seem for one like me to be interested in guns, I would rather be able to say that I could protect my children in an event that the police were taking their time or I couldn't get to a phone quickly enough. What is everyone elses thoughts on this??

if you can afford one and the government gives you a license to use it then it is your right to protect yourself and if you need then use it.
i will do if i found myself in a situation where it is the only option of survival and you can call it in "situation critical"
