The largest insect (by weight) is African Goliath Beetle. It can weigh 3.5 ounces (100 grams) and grow up to 4.3 inches. The longest insect is Borneo Stick Insect, which can grow up to 21.6 inches (55 cm) - when measured with its legs stretched.

What about the south american longhorn bettle? or the Acteaeom Bettle from South America. That one is really bulky.

I would also note that a scorpion is not an insect, just to be overly technical. Sorry.
