Star Wars: The Clone Wars  

Same here. I've been a fandroid since I was 7. I have to agree that I was irked by the fact that they wanted to expound once again on the Clone Wars when there was already a movie and cartoon series made. Making a third wave of media on that era is going way too far. They could've just continued on after episode VI, or expounded on the gap between Eps. III and IV. (By the way I didn't know about that other program).
Since I couldn't change what has already been done, I conceded to give in and participate. The movie was really bad. That alonw could have put me off but being the fan that I am, I still kept on and watched the animated series that followed after it. Later on the series, my patience was rewarded by some pretty good stories and episodes. The Clone Wars series isn't so bad. You should check it out.
I guess they wanted to show so much of the Clone Wars now because back when there was just the original trilogy, the Clone Wars was such a big thing that so much information and effort has to be put to telling that story.
