Will my friends here at myLot help me finish my cross stitch picture I am designing for my grandson who will arrive in February of next year. The bottom is done, the middle part where the lines are is thread and that is where the announcement lettering will go. The top part is what I am having problems with I do not know where to go from here. Do I add a sun if I do that do I center it, put it in the corner, do I add clouds and how do I make clouds? Should I add some birds? I am a lost for ideas. Hay I got this far. Please give me some ideas to continue on. Thanks

Hey tea! You a quite talented! That is adorable! I love it! Lambs and butterflys! My favorites! Yes add a sun and clouds and birds and whatever you want! You make the choice! It is just beautiful already! Whatever you decide to do I know will be just right! I can't wait to see it finished! You do have artistic talent! I wish I could do stuff like that. But, sadly to say I can't sew, knit, crochet~nothing! I am hopeless! I have tried, but just couldn't learn! So you pick what you want to add and the show us the finished product and your new grandson is going to love it!

Opal I am sure you have talents that I do not have. I believe we all have some artistic abilities. Can you sing or play music? I cannot do that at all.

That is adorable...I'd love to see the finished pic. Is it the light or does the white on the lambs have a shine to it? I also do cross stitching but haven't worked on it in awhile...your post has inspired me to work on it this evening...thank you!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I would do a centered sun, with clouds - white toward the sun, light grey away from the sun - and back stitched with maybe a darker grey. And if you can find cute little birds - do that too!

just make a half circle, maybe a darker yellow in the middle - and then some back stitch rays from the sun face

I have some birds I will put on there and alas I cannot find a sun that will fit. I am still looking. The baby's mother sure likes it. She was the one who wanted the lambs in the first place.

I am not really good at art... but i did a lot of cross stitching before... and i think you certainly should put the sun... some clouds... and birds... most kids love birds... and the shining sun is a good symbol for a new beginning... you can even put the baby's name... if they already have one...

My son and his girlfriend almost have settled on a name so I can put the name on it. I have picked the top part. I will post a photo of it when I get it completely done.

Very beautiful! I used to do cross stitch all the time. So relaxing and enjoyable. I showed your baby announcement cross stitch to my daughter. She loved the butterflies, especially. I like the idea of a rainbow, cause babies are new hope, but I'm not sure that would fit in with the theme of your project. It's very well done.

Thank you I finished it until the baby is done. I put a vine of leaves on the top. I did not have a pattern for a sun. It is pretty and when I put the name and date and pounds I will add more butter flies and leaves falling down around the words.

aw i think that the baby announcement is very cute and i think it is a good way to announce a babys arrival it is hard to see the picture becaues it is so small but i can still tell that it is very pretty i think you should stitch a picture of a stork carrying a white bag in its beak (kind of a cartoony stork with the extra long beak and extra round head and long neck)you could also add some clouds so that the stork is flying way up high delivering the baby i do not really think a sun would be a good choice
