the pedigree of your pet  

Mine is a full breed Alaskan Malamute. He's registered with the AKC, and must be a full breed in order to be registered. I know both his Sire and Dam and I also bought his family tree from the AKC so I can see his lineage for generations back.

My dog is a cockapoo, which is a poodle mixed with a cocker spaniel. he's adorable.

I have two Maltese dogs, mother and daughter. I know the pedigree of the mother because I bought her from a breeder and she came with AKC registration papers and pedigree certificate. I also had a male Maltese, whom I bought the same way.

They had one litter of four pups, which I registered with the AKC. I gave three of the pups away because my mother had just died and I didn't have time to put ads in the papers to try to sell them. I should have, since the mother alone cost $1,800.00!

I had to give the male away, too, because he was peeing on everything in the house and I just didn't have the time or physical energy to train him properly.

But I kept the mother and daughter. I'm so glad I did. They give me love and affection every day and bring a level of joy to my life that I could never have without them.
