Do you get on with your inlaws? Do you wish they werent around? Do you live with them or barely talk to them?

I get on with them well enough. My mother-in-law really gets on my nerves but she also helps with the children and I am really glad that she's in their lives. I didn't have grandparents growing up.

It is good if they are part of the cland lives and an extra pair of hands is always good.

Hello AbbeyB Well I used to get on with my inlaws swimmingly until 2 years ago when I fled with my kids away from my husband and now I am sure they hate my guts and are in denial of what their son is really like!!

Well my Nanny (in-law) and papa toad (in-law) live right next door and then my father in-law is right on the other side of them. I love my in-laws and they love me. We get along great. I guess I was blessed in that area. My mother in-law is in a home but she comes home for visits and she likes me as well. I keep trying to trade dads with my husband. .....lol

Live with the in-laws... are you crazy?? Actually I get on well with my in-laws but this is probably due to the fact that we live in different towns and it is a 5 hour drive to visit.

You always seem to get on better with them if they live a distance apart!

I think I'm lucky enough my in laws live far from us.Watching telenovelas gave me the impression that it is hard to get along with them. But when we visit them I never felt any indifference.Maybe it is only my wrong impression or it maybe different if we live with them.

I believe having a good relationship with your in-laws will make your life more easier and lighter. unfortunately, some people dont get along with their in-laws. but i do believe that respecting them really helps. Respect them because they are your partner's parents. I have a good relationship with my in-laws and they are also good to me.

My husband and I live by ourselves. My in laws are both in another state a 4 hour drive away from us. They rarely come back for visit and when they do, its a get together for dinners and then chat a while that's all. So I am okay with them as even when chatting my husband will be chatting most of the time with them. I just be there. And although I don't have any tension or anything with my in laws, I am thankful that my husband and I have our own place and we are not staying with them.

My mother-in-law passed away in 02 and my father-in-law has since remarried. I always got along with them well but the fac that we lived in different states and didn't have daily contact probably attributed to that fact. Since he has remarried (we still live in two different states)I can only say that I am glad that I had not dealt with this new wife for the first several years. She is very nosy and pushy unlike my mother-in-law. I just try to limit contact which is pretty easy because of the distance and to be hinest I have caller ID and I don't answer the phone a lot when she calls. LIVE WITH THEM??? NOT HAPPENING!
